I don’t want you to get stuck on the definitions of these two tasks as some of my previous clients have.
Let’s start with the “googled” definitions:
TRAINING
noun
1. the action of teaching a person or animal a particular skill or type of behavior:
COACHING
noun
the act of giving special classes in sports, a school subject, or a work-related activity, especially to one person or a small group.
Here’s how I look at it:
TRAINING→ The act of sharing an unknown task or behavior.
COACHING→ The act of improving a KNOWN task or behavior.
Training should happen much less frequently than coaching.
Coaching should occur every time there is a gap between the actual results to the desired results.
<aside> 💡
Neither is more important than the other. If you assume everything is training, your participants will begin to tune you out because it will sound as if you are always talking down to them. If you assume everything is coaching, your trainees will feel as if they are missing something.

Know when to use them.
If you don’t here’s my go to question:
SHOW ME HOW YOU DID THAT!
